The software supports MBOX files created by Mozilla Thunderbird, Apple Mail, Google Takeout, Opera Mail, Postbox, Spicebird, Claws Mail, Google Vault, and other supported applications.
Users can add single or multiple MBOX files, folders, or fetch emails directly from a Thunderbird profile. Its advanced preview feature lets users inspect emails, attachments, metadata, headers, MIME content, and folder structure before conversion, with a browser-based viewing option if the preview cannot render properly. Date-range filtering, duplicate email removal, and the option to skip previously migrated files help users perform selective and organized conversions.
Cigati MBOX Converter also supports direct migration of MBOX data to Microsoft 365, Gmail, Google Workspace, GoDaddy, Outlook.com, Hotmail, and IMAP accounts. Users can manage attachments separately, merge or split MBOX files, split large resultant PST files, and customize PDF output sizes up to 500 MB per MBOX. The tool preserves email attributes, formatting, inline images, metadata, attachments, and folder hierarchy during supported conversion and migration operations. The free version allows conversion of up to 50 emails per folder for evaluation.
